Free selling for UK-based private sellers
It's now free for UK-based private sellers to sell on eBay (excluding motors: Cars, Motorcycles & Vehicles listings). You won't pay final value fees or regulatory operating fees when your items sell.
Fees will apply if you list more than 300 items in a month, if you add optional upgrades to your listing, or if you deliver to an overseas address. See our FAQs - opens in new window or tab for additional details.
Sellers based outside of the UK may be subject to additional fees. See Fees for private sellers residing outside the UK section below for more information.
Listing fees
Private sellers get an allocation of 300 free listings each month (or, 400 free listings each month if you have an eBay Shop subscription). Once you've used all of your free listings, we charge 35p for each additional listing you create that month. Listing fees are non-refundable.
- Relists and renewals: When your existing listings are automatically renewed or relisted, we don't charge the listing fee again, and the renewal or relist won't count against your free listings allocation. If you choose to manually relist your item, it'll count against your free listings allocation, or we'll charge a listing fee if you've used up your monthly allocation
- Multi-quantity listings: We only charge one listing fee or free listing for your listings that have multiple quantities or variations

Fees for optional listing upgrades
Optional listing upgrades, like adding a subtitle, can help to attract more buyers.
We charge upgrade fees when you list your item, and these fees are non-refundable. If you choose to manually relist your item, optional listing upgrade fees apply again. We don't charge these fees again for your listings that are set to automatically renew or relist.

International fee
If your registered address is in the UK, we charge an international fee of 3% if the delivery address for the item (entered by the buyer during checkout) is outside the UK.
This fee is calculated on the total amount of the sale and is automatically deducted from your sales proceeds. The total amount of the sale includes the item price, any handling charges, postage, and any applicable taxes.
If you don't want international buyers to purchase your items, you can learn how to exclude international delivery locations in our International selling policy.
eBay Shop subscription fee
For a monthly cost of £19.99, you'll receive an additional 100 free listings which include the special duration listing upgrade (so, 400 free listings each month). After that, you'll pay the 35p listing fee for each additional listing.

Dispute fee
If you're found responsible for a chargeback or other disputed amount as per our policies, we charge a £16.80 fee for each dispute.
Seller currency conversion charge
When you create listings or sell items on an international eBay site, we may convert your funds to a different currency in order to collect amounts owed by you, or to payout funds due to you.
For example, if your registered address is in the UK and you create a listing on eBay.de for which fees are due (such as listing and/or optional listing upgrade fees), we will convert your funds from GBP to EUR using the transaction exchange rate applicable at the time of listing, in order to collect these fees. When the item sells on eBay.de, we will calculate your payout amount by converting the sales proceeds from EUR to GBP using the transaction exchange rate applicable at the time of the sale.
If we convert your funds, the conversion will be completed at the transaction exchange rate we set for the relevant currency exchange. Our transaction exchange rate is composed of a base exchange rate plus a conversion charge. The conversion charge is a fixed percentage applied to the base exchange rate and retained by us. The base exchange rate reflects rates within the wholesale currency markets applicable to the currency pairing on the day of the conversion, or the prior business day. If exchange rates are set by law or regulation, the base exchange rate reflects the government reference rates.
If your registered address is in the UK, the seller currency conversion charge applied and retained by us is 2.5%. If your registered address is not in the UK, see the fee page for your country or region of residence for your seller currency conversion charge information.
This charge is levied by eBay Commerce UK Ltd in connection with your use of managed payments.
Fees for private sellers residing outside the UK
In addition to the listing fees and optional listing upgrade fees detailed above, the following fees apply to private sellers residing outside the UK.
