Counter-offers

If you've made a Best Offer on a listing, the seller may come back to you with a counter-offer suggesting another price.

If a seller sends you a counter-offer, you'll find the offer in your Messages - opens in new window or tab.

Responding to a counter-offer

You can accept, reject, or continue negotiating by making another offer to the seller. Here's how you can respond:

  • Accept and commit to buy – Select Buy it in the counteroffer message
  • Negotiate – Make another offer to the seller
  • Reject – Select Reject offer in the counteroffer message

You can make a total of 3 offers on most items, or 10 in most Motors categories.

Tip
If you accept a counter-offer, you’re committing to buy the item and you’ll need to complete payment like any other eBay purchase.

If you don’t respond to the seller’s counter-offer, it’ll expire after 24 hours, or when the listing ends - whichever comes first.

If a seller comes back to you with a counter-offer, you'll find their response in your Messages. You can choose to accept, reject, or continue negotiating by making another offer.
